ABOUT THE MENSTRUAL COACH ACADEMY

We are a holistic and integrative coaching and training academy.

People who train with us are embarking on a new career path or are currently a wellness provider. Either way, we provide the education and support you need to become a skilled coach and facilitator in the areas of menstrual cycles, chronic pain, and trauma stored in the body.

Learning effective ways to help your clients find ease in their bodies and peace with their menstrual cycles is a game changer.

  • It gives your clients a sense of relief, perhaps for the first time in their lives.

  • It enables you to expand your service offerings.

  • It boosts your expertise and confidence as a wellness professional.

Our Story

Menstrual Coach Academy founder Lisa de Jong sits at a cafe and smiles forward

Born out of her own lived experience with chronic pain, Lisa, our founder, found herself in a world that didn’t fully understand how to work with the menstrual cycle. We could read a lot of books and take courses about hormonal health but integrating, embodying, and living the work was a different question.

There was a focus on diet and nutrition in the hormonal health industry but not much on the mind-body connection, the nervous system, and trauma-informed coaching skills for women’s health and the menstrual cycle.

Following her curiosity, Lisa trained in a variety of therapeutic and holistic modalities that centred trauma-informed principles as she established her client practice.

She began teaching her doctor and therapist about this work. Her client practice was growing with great results. Friends, colleagues, and clients asked to learn from her. So in 2021, the first iteration of the Menstrual Cycle Coach Training was created with our first small group of students.

Each year since, the training and our supervision services have grown and developed thanks to the contributions from our global classroom and contributors.

What we do:

We offer a 6-month accredited and certified online training called The Menstrual Cycle Coach and Facilitation Training. We also offer group and 1:1 supervision for professionals who desire further support with their client work, practice, and business.

Our learning method is inspired by a shared approach rather than a top-down model.

  • Each student is a valued learning participant.

  • Our thoughtful curriculum is structured, but we keep the journey fluid so group insights, stories, and reflections have space to emerge.

  • We learn from a place of ease and embodiment; and we follow the needs of our nervous systems instead of flooding our bodies with stress hormones in order to memorise lots of information.

All that to say, we’ve created a unique learning experience that breaks free from the standardized, cookie-cutter learning model.

Our values:

PRESENCE

The most powerful energy a coach or practitioner can bring to their client is their presence. We value our own presence in groups, and support you to hold strong presence in your work.

CURIOSITY

Trusting and following our curiosity has allowed us to build a holistic and integrative body of work. There is always more to learn. We continue to be curious and to learn as we grow and develop.

TRUST

Trusting the process is a huge part of our work with clients and groups when it comes to complex chronic pain or trauma-informed work. We hold trust for ourselves and we trust our clients on their recovery journey.

BALANCE

All of our work in education as well as coaching and facilitation is a balance between content and process; learning and integration; engaging and taking breaks. We are comfortable with space, silence, and rest as well as action, focus, and direction.

GENEROSITY

We are very grateful to the many teachers, contributors, friends and leaders in this space who have directly or indirectly contributed to our body of work. We love to be generous with our teachings, perspectives, and supports which ultimately benefit those in need.

INTEGRITY

We aim to prioritise alignment between our values, content, services, practices, and delivery. This allows us to grow a strong and sustainable practice-based business that is values-led, creative, and confident.

We honor & celebrate our lineage.

A body of work is non-existent without its lineage in diversity of thought and support. We would like to acknowledge and thank the teachers, coaches, and facilitators whose work directly contributes to our practice:
