Course Structure:
The curriculum is broken down into three focus areas throughout the six months of the programme:
Content & Education
The first is all about the education required to deliver this work and integrate it into your practice, covering in-depth the various topics of this field. This will provide you with the important information, tools, and education to confidently support your clients.
Process & Engaging with Clients
The next area focuses on how to bring this education into your work, to your clients or students, and into your professional practice. We explore how to build these relationships, trauma-informed coaching and facilitation skills, how to identify issues your clients don't see themselves, understand their needs, and how to empower them in the process.
Integrating the Work & Building a Practice
The third area will focus on the you in your work, finding your place and your voice in this field. We will explore how to marry this work with your current skills, expertise and creativity, what your clients need, and ultimately get to a place of confidence and ease in this space.
You will be encouraged to process information from a personal perspective and reflect inwardly during your journey.
You will arrive at important and powerful insights based on your own lived experience. As such, there will be plenty of space for inner work, sharing, and support throughout our time together.

At the Menstrual Coach Academy, our goal is to support you in skills-based learning and a trauma-informed approach to menstrual cycle education, coaching, and facilitation.
Our approach is holistic in nature meaning that we consider different lenses, perspectives and approaches to work from. We aim to be unbiased in our approach. We are also pioneers in offering a polyvagal and trauma-informed approach to menstrual cycle work and we aim to practice from anti-oppressive principles.
Here you will learn the tools and skills from menstrual cycle awareness, pain science, neuroscience and polyvagal theory not only to help your clients in their relationship with their menstrual cycle but also how to support those with challenges such as period pain, PMS, PMDD, endometriosis from a mind-body perspective and support those navigating the medical system.
We help you to navigate uncertainty with clients who feel stuck and what to do if cases become challenging.
We help you to be ‘you’ in this work as all our graduates and students are offering very different things in the world.
Lastly, we work from a needs-based approach meaning that we value everyone's different needs and capacities for learning and contributing. While there is a strong community and supportive group dynamic, most of our students are here to learn and not necessarily to make new friends. If friends are made, that is wonderful, but there is no pressure to be here for social reasons. We offer a private alumni community and many of our graduates have remained in touch.
-
There are no formal prerequisites but it helps a lot if you are already familiar with Menstrual Cycle Awareness, have taken a course, or read a book about the menstrual cycle and cycle awareness.
-
Lisa works with diverse groups so no previous experience is required. Some people come in with other training, qualifications, and experience. While other people don't or they might just have personal lived experience. All are welcome because having a diverse group makes for a very rich learning environment where we can all learn from each other's perspectives even if you are a complete beginner.

Absolutely! This course will not focus primarily on the menopause journey but we will certainly touch on how to support people on that path. The knowledge and skills you will acquire will apply for your menopausal clients. The invitation is for you to bring your own knowledge and experience to contribute to the group learning space. We also have guest teachers teach on this subject.
-
We support you with education, tools, and skills to work with menstrual cycle education, awareness, and the mind-body connection. We don’t cover anything to do with diagnosis, medication, pregnancy, fertility issues or planning, Fertility Awareness Method, functional medicine, or in depth nutrition plans. We do however have some guest teachers speak on some of these topics for education purposes.
-
Outside of the group lectures and process groups once a month, you will only need to dedicate a couple more hours per month for self-study, peer support and reflective practice. We estimate this to be a total of 9-10 hours per month at a minimum depending on your own learning needs and capacity.
-
There is an assessment as part of the optional Accreditation Route. You can read more about that in our Programme Booklet. The purpose of the assessment is to support your learning integration and can be completed in writing, video, or audio as you prefer. After the assessment, you will receive your certificate and accreditation.

Currently as we are still a very small business we only offer sponsored scholarship spaces.
If we get sponsorship, we will announce any places in our newsletter but these spaces are very limited and prioritised only to people living with disabilities, the BIPOC community, and folks who are financially disadvantaged.
You will be required to source your own sponsorship and get in touch with us to let us know you would like to pay with this route.
The company will need to be an aligned company and we offer advertising and content in exchange as part of a shared DEI initiative for the chosen sponsor.
